Combo Plans -  Class and Appointment

Bundle classes and appointments into a single membership or package.

Overview

Combo Plans allow studios to bundle class access and appointment services into a single plan with unified pricing, billing, renewals, and usage tracking. Instead of selling classes and appointments separately, you can now create one membership that covers both.

Examples of what you can now offer:

  • Unlimited classes + 2 appointments per month
  • 5 classes per month + 1 appointment per month

Why It Matters

Previously, studios offering both classes and appointments had no way to package them together. Clients had to purchase and track separate memberships, and staff had to manage multiple plans per client. Combined Plans solve this by creating one unified offering that reflects how clients actually use your studio.

Before

Now

Two separate plans to manage

One plan covering both services

Two billing schedules

Single unified billing and renewal

Clients track two memberships

Clients see one plan with class and appointment counts

Harder to create compelling packages

Bundle services into premium, value-driven memberships

Supported Plan Types (MVP)

Combined Plans currently support two configurations:

  • Unlimited class plan paired with a limited appointment plan
  • Limited subscription-based class plan paired with a limited subscription-based appointment plan

Note: Single upfront (non-subscription) Combined Plans are not supported in this release. Both the class and appointment components must be subscription-based.

📹 How to Set Up Combo Plans (Video Walkthrough)

1. Navigate to Plan Management

Go to Plan Management and click Add New Plan, then select Combo Plan.

2. Configure class and appointment allocations (Step 1)

This step mirrors the standard class and appointment plan setup. Set your class type, visit limits or unlimited access, and eligible appointment types.

3. Set up pricing (Step 2)

Configure unified pricing, billing cadence, renewal settings, and expiration rules for the combined plan.

4. Set revenue allocation values

Assign a value to the class portion and the appointment portion of the plan so Walla can attribute revenue accurately across services and calculate per-visit value.

5. Set expected visit count

Set the expected visit count for PPV (Per-Visit Value) calculation purposes.

Client Experience

From your clients' perspective, Combined Plans appear as a single plan in the widget and app. Here's what they'll see:

  • The plan detail tile shows the number of classes and appointments included
  • One purchase flow and one billing schedule
  • Class and appointment usage are tracked independently within the plan
  • The plan renews based on the billing schedule regardless of how many classes or appointments have been used
  • Clients can book both a class and an appointment on the same day

Policies still apply: Class booking, waitlist, and late cancel rules continue to follow class-specific policies. Appointment booking and cancellation rules continue to follow appointment-specific policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create a Combined Plan with a one-time upfront payment?

Not in this release. Both the class and appointment components must be subscription-based. Single upfront Combined Plans will be supported in a future update.

What happens if a client uses all their appointments but still has classes remaining?

The plan continues as normal — class and appointment usage are tracked independently. The plan renews based on the billing schedule regardless of how much of each has been used.

Can clients book an appointment and a class on the same day?

Yes — clients can book both a class and an appointment on the same day using a Combined Plan.

How do I make sure revenue is reported correctly across classes and appointments?

When creating the plan, assign a value to the class portion and the appointment portion. Walla uses these values to attribute revenue accurately in the Class Analysis and Appointment Revenue reports.

Will the old class and appointment cancellation policies still apply?

Yes — class-specific policies (booking windows, waitlists, late cancel rules) continue to apply to the class portion, and appointment-specific policies continue to apply to the appointment portion.

Can I add or remove passes manually for a specific client?

Yes — staff can manually adjust class or appointment passes on a client's Combined Plan by selecting the (…) menu on the plan card in the client profile.
