Method 1: Check the App Store Using a Web Browser

You can find the latest version of a branded app directly from your browser—no download needed.

  1. Open a new browser window

  2. Go to: https://apps.apple.com/store

  3. Use the search bar to find the app you're looking for

  4. Select What's New

  5. On the app’s page, scroll down to the "Version History" section

  6. The most recent version number and its release date will be displayed there

Do not use the App Store app on your Mac or desktop to search—many branded or niche apps will not appear in search results there. Always use the browser version of the App Store for the most accurate results.

You can also find the latest app version directly from your iPhone

  1. Open the App Store app on your mobile device.

  2. Tap the Search tab and look up the app by name.

  3. Tap on the app in the results to open its details page.

  4. Scroll down to the "Version History" section (under the “What’s New” area).

  5. The latest version number and release date will be shown at the top.
