Membership Reporting Settings

Control which plans count toward your member totals

Overview

Studios can now choose whether clients on a plan count as members in membership reporting — separate from whether the plan grants membership benefits. This gives studios more control over member counts, even when a plan still grants membership status and perks (early booking, discounts, etc.).

The Membership section in plan setup has also been renamed Membership Tiers, where you assign a plan the Member tier, another tier, or no membership status.

Why It Matters

Not every plan that grants membership benefits should count toward a studio's member total — think employee, trade, or complimentary plans. This setting lets studios keep those benefits while keeping their member count accurate.

How to Set it up

  1. Go to Plan Setup and create or edit a plan.
  2. Under Membership Tiers, assign a tier.
  3. If the plan grants membership status, you'll see a Membership Reporting Settings checkbox — checked by default, so nothing changes unless you update it.
  4. Uncheck it to exclude clients on this plan from member counts. You can change this anytime.

💡 Works across all plan types (unlimited, limited, usage-based, trial). For shared plans, excluding the plan excludes everyone on it — not just some clients.

What It Affects

Unchecking this only affects member classification — it doesn't hide the plan, payments, or revenue anywhere.

  • Studio Performance Dashboard: Active Members, Member Retention Rate, Avg Visits/Member/Mo., Avg Rev/Member/Mo.
  • Reports with a Members Only filter: Active Plans Report, Plan Gain & Loss Report
  • Not affected:Recurring Plan Payments, MRR, Plan Retention, and the Plans Dashboard (Plans Gained/Lost, Net Plan Growth, Paused Plans)

Retroactivity

Changes aren't retroactive — they apply from the moment you uncheck the box. Historical data stays as previously recorded..
