Walla's Email Template Gallery is where you can create and store email templates that can be used in your Newsletters or Journeys.
You can edit, rename, duplicate, or delete an email template from the Gallery page by clicking the options "..." in the top right corner of the email preview.
π Functionality note Any modifications you make within a Scheduled Email or Automation will not alter these templates.
Create a New Email Template
Click the "new email template" button to create a new email. From there, you'll be given the option to create a custom email or use one of the existing templates in the editor.
To use an existing template, click "duplicate" and enter in the title of your new template. You'll be taken to the Advanced Builder to start adding your own images and copy to the template.

Once you save your template, it will appear in Email Template Gallery.
Using the Advanced Builder
Whether you are creating a custom template or working off of an existing template, you'll be working within the Advanced Builder to add your unique touches.
From the Email Template Gallery, locate the template you want to edit, click the option "..." and select "edit" - this will open the Advanced Builder.
You can also access the Advanced Builder directly from within a Newsletter or Automation when editing the email message.
The Advanced Builder is broken into three sections: Content, Blocks, and Body. We'll review each of those sections here.
Content
The content section provides tools that allow you to add and organize content in your email. Each tool contains several customization options in the right-side menu bar that allow you to create unique emails that match your brand voice.
Columns
Columns
Columns are used to split your content into sections using any of the Content Block options. Click and drag the "columns" box into your template. Then, select what column design you want on the right hand side of the screen. From there, click the "X" on the right side to close the Columns screen. Click and drag content boxes into your columns.
Heading
Heading
Headings are typically used as titles and subtitles for sections within your email. Drag a heading anywhere into your email and choose from varying size formats to make your sections stand out. Scroll down in the side menu to customize your text settings according to font, size, color, and more.
Text

Drag a text block into your email and start writing your content. Scroll down in the side menu to customize your text settings according to font, size, color, and more.
Image
Image
Drag an image block into your email, click the block, and upload an image. You can also drag and drop an image file into the box below the "upload image" button. Scroll down in the side menu to see other tools, such as sizing and alignment options and how to add a link to your image.

Video
Drag a video block into your email, click the block, and paste the video url into the text box in the right side menu. Scroll down in the side menu to see other tools, such as container padding and responsive design.

Social

Drag the social block into your email, click the block, click which platforms you want to include from the right side menu. From there, add the links to your social media pages in their respective boxes. Scroll down in the side menu to see other tools, such as icon type/style, alignment, size, and spacing.

If you or a graphic designer has custom code they want to add to your email, drag an HTML block into the email and paste the code into the provided space. Custom code is used for advanced email design and allows you to embed unique elements or special functionalities not provided by basic templates.
Blocks
Blocks are very similar to columns in that they organize your email into sections. Click and drag a block into your email and then add your content to each section.
Body
The body section of the Advanced Editor contains a few global settings for your email. Here you can edit font settings, the email background color (if any), link color, and more.
π€ Best Practice Set your Body Settings first and then make any customizations to specific sections of the email as you go. If you make a change to the font colors, weight, or family in the Body Settings, the changes may affect the entire email.

What are recommended dimensions and files sizes to use within the editor?

βHow do I use the AI generator?
Click "Generate AI Text" to open the AI generator. Add details about your content and message preferences then click Submit. You'll be given three options that you can copy and paste into your email before editing. You can also click the Refresh button if you want to see more options.
How do I get back to the main navigation screen inside the Advanced Editor?
Navigate throughout the different sections in the Advanced Editor on the right hand side of the screen. If you are inside of a particular tool and are trying to get back to the navigation menu, look for the "X" at the top right corner to close the section.
How do I delete a content block?
With the block selected, look for the trash can icon in the right side menu. Or, click directly onto the content block and look for the trash can icon and click.
How do I duplicate a content block?
With the block selected, look for the two squares icon in the right side menu. Or, click directly onto the content block and look for the two squares icon and click.
How do I undo an action?
Press command + z to undo your last action.
How do I see what my email looks like on mobile?
You can edit your email for desktop and mobile settings. Click the phone icon button at the button of the page or click "Mobile" in the right side menu bar to edit for mobile view.
How do I preview my email to see what it looks like?
At the bottom of the page, click the eye icon to preview your email.
To close your preview, click the X at the top right corner of the page. Do not click "Back to Templates" unless your email is already saved.
When you are ready to leave your email, click "Save & Exit"Do not click "Back to Templates" unless your email is already saved.
Does the template auto-save as I'm working on it?
Changes to your email template are not automatically saved. Please save your progress periodically by clicking the save button at the bottom of the screen.
