Client Timezone Display
Updated over 8 months ago

By making sure timezones are front and center throughout the booking process, we cut down on confusion. Sure, mistakes can happen, but our approach of being upfront about timezones at every turn helps keep them to a minimum. Our decision to display timezones at every step of the client journey is key to keeping things clear and simple, especially when dealing with studios in different timezones.

Widget and Walla App: Use the client's browser/device timezone settings

When browsing available services on the schedule, the widget and Walla App show times based on your browser/ device settings timezone. This means that regardless of where the studio is located, the displayed times adjust to match your current location. For example, if you're in a different timezone from the studio, it shows the times in your local time. So, a class scheduled for 7am EST in New York will display as 4am PST if you're phone timezone is set to Cupertino (PST).

The widget and Walla App uses the client browser/device's settings, it does not use the studio location.

After booking a service, the widget and Walla App continue to show your upcoming schedule based on the client's browser/device's timezone.

Booking Confirmation Email and Text: Use the studio's location the service takes place at

After booking a service, depending on the client's opt-in preference and if you have email/text notifications enabled, the client will receive confirmation emails/texts. Booking confirmation emails and texts use the studio location the class takes place at, they do not use the client browser/device's settings.

When traveling or if the client is out of town this might be different from the timezone when they booked.

Because the timezone is clearly displayed throughout the entire client experience, there is little room for confusion. Having a couple of clients not pay attention and not read the timezone is not unheard of but it is caused by the client not paying attention.
