How Reviews Work For Your Studio
Your clients can submit ratings and reviews for classes and appointments they've attended, giving you valuable feedback about your instructors and helping new clients learn about your services. Clients are only asked to leave reviews for specific combinations of class, location, and instructor that they haven't reviewed before.
Enable Ratings & Reviews
Follow the steps below to turn on the Ratings & Reviews feature in your Walla site:
Select your Profile Icon on the top right

Review Prompt Locations
Your clients will see review prompts in two places:
On the widget
In the Walla App
Review Details
When leaving a review, clients are asked three questions.
How was this class with instructor? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1-5 stars
Good for beginners? (Yes/No)
Good for advanced? (Yes/No)
Written Feedback: An open text field
7 Day Window
Clients can also access review options from their booking history for 7 days after attending a class or appointment, giving them multiple opportunities to share their thoughts about their experience. After this period, the review prompt automatically disappears.
Reviewable Combinations
A reviewable combination is made up of three specific elements that create a unique experience for your clients:
Class Name - The specific type of class or service (e.g., "Power Yoga," "Pilates Reformer," "Deep Tissue Massage")
Location - The studio location where the class or service was provided
Instructor - The specific teacher or service provider
For example, "Hot Yoga in Downtown with Jamie," "Barre in Westside with Alex," and "Meditation in North End with Sam" are all different reviewable combinations.
Review Frequency
Your clients' review experience is carefully managed to avoid overwhelming them with requests:
Clients are only prompted for one review at a time, even if they've attended multiple classes
Each class-location-instructor combination can only be reviewed once per client
If a client dismisses a review request for a specific visit, they won't be asked about that visit again
However, if they attend a new instance of a class they haven't yet reviewed, they may receive a new prompt.
Substitute Instructors
When a substitute instructor teaches a class, it creates a new reviewable combination. Because the instructor is one of the three elements that define a reviewable item (class name + location + instructor), any change in instructor results in a new review opportunity.
For example, if "Power Yoga in Chicago with Omen" is substituted by "Power Yoga in Chicago with Wild," clients will be prompted to review this as a new experience, even though it's the same class type and location.
Managing Deleted Schedules
If you delete a class, location, or instructor that has been reviewed:
Existing reviews remain in your system for reference
Clients who previously reviewed that combination will never be prompted to review it again
This applies even if you later recreate the same class-location-instructor combination
FAQ
What is a “Reviewable Item”?
Reviews are collected for specific combinations of class, location, and instructor. For example, "Om a Meditation Class in WEHO with Wild" is considered one reviewable combination.
What happens to reviews if I delete a class, location, or instructor?
If you delete a class, location, or instructor that has been reviewed, existing reviews will remain in your system for reference. To maintain a clean review experience, clients who have already submitted feedback for a specific combination won't receive new prompts, even if you recreate identical class-location-instructor combinations in the future.
Will clients be asked to review a class-instructor-location combination again if I delete and recreate it?
No. Once clients have submitted feedback on a specific combination, they won't see prompts for that same combination again—even if you recreate it later. This thoughtful approach both preserves your valuable review history and ensures a seamless experience for clients by eliminating redundant review requests.
Where can other customers see the reviews?
Currently, reviews are internal only and can be seen under the Ratings and Reviews report in your admin dashboard. They are not yet visible to your clients or the public, though this functionality is planned for a future update.
Will these be public facing to customers?
Eventually, yes. While reviews are currently only visible to studio administrators in the Ratings and Reviews report, we plan to make them public-facing in a future update. This will allow potential clients to see reviews when browsing classes.
Can clients edit or delete their reviews after submitting them?
No, once a review is submitted, clients cannot edit or delete it themselves. If a client contacts you about changing their review, you can remove it from your admin dashboard under Reports > Client Reviews.
Will clients be asked to review every class they attend?
No, clients will only be asked to review unique combinations of class, location, and instructor. Once they've reviewed a specific combination (for example, "Power Yoga in Chicago with Omen"), they won't be prompted to review that same combination again, even if they attend it multiple times.
What happens if a client dismisses a review prompt?
If a client dismisses a review prompt for a specific visit, they won't be asked about that particular visit again. However, if they attend another instance of a class-location-instructor combination they haven't yet reviewed, they may receive a new prompt for that experience.
Can I respond to client reviews?
Currently, you cannot reply to customer reviews within the system. There is no functionality to publish responses to reviews left by your clients. However, you can use the feedback to reach out to clients directly through your usual communication channels if you'd like to address their comments or concerns.
Can these reviews sync to other review platforms?
Currently, reviews cannot sync to other review platforms such as Google, Yelp, or Facebook. The reviews collected through the Ratings & Reviews feature are contained within your Walla system only. Future integrations with external review platforms may be considered based on user feedback.
What happens to existing reviews if I disable the feature?
If you disable the Ratings & Reviews feature, existing reviews will be preserved in your system but hidden from public view. You'll still be able to access this historical data through your admin dashboard. If you re-enable the feature later, these reviews will become visible again.
